Pakistan in the Spotlight at GDC 2025, Showcasing Its Thriving Gaming Industry

Moscone Center, San Francisco, USA – March 21, 2025 – Pakistan showcased its gaming prowess at Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2025, the world’s leading gaming event, held from March 17-21 in San Francisco. Bringing together developers, investors, and industry leaders from around the world, the event served as a major platform for showcasing Pakistan’s rapidly expanding gaming industry. With over 60 industry professionals, developers, and entrepreneurs participating, this was Pakistan’s largest-ever delegation at a gaming event.

The Pakistan Pavilion was officially inaugurated by Consul General of Pakistan in Los Angeles, Asim Ali Khan, and CEO of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Abu Bakar. The pavilion served as a central hub for networking, business expansion, and international collaboration. Pakistani companies engaged in high-impact meetings with top gaming studios, publishers, and investors, unlocking new growth opportunities.

Pakistan’s presence at GDC 2025 has also gained media recognition, with the country’s gaming industry featured in the San Francisco Chronicle—a testament to the growing influence of Pakistani game developers in the global market. With branding displayed across San Francisco and a strong presence at the event, Pakistan was truly in the spotlight, showcasing its talent, innovation, and potential to the world.

Consul General Asim Ali Khan highlighted Pakistan’s expanding presence at GDC:

“Over the past three years, I have witnessed Pakistan’s footprint in the global gaming industry grow tremendously. Only a handful of countries have dedicated national pavilions at GDC, and Pakistan is proud to be one of them. The growth we have seen in just a short span of time is a remarkable achievement for our gaming sector.”

Speaking at the inauguration, CEO PSEB, Abu Bakar, emphasized the immense potential of Pakistan’s gaming sector:

“This is our largest-ever delegation at a global gaming event, reflecting the rapid momentum of Pakistan’s gaming industry. With gaming being the fastest-growing sector in our tech landscape, Pakistan has a major opportunity to make its mark on the global stage. We are just getting started.”

In addition to the Pakistan Pavilion, PSEB and OPEN SV arranged a Pakistan Gaming Meetup, where industry leaders, developers, and investors discussed cross-border partnerships and business expansion. Pakistani gaming studios also participated in exclusive B2B networking sessions, forging valuable connections with global industry players.

With a thriving $200 million gaming industry and a rapidly growing developer ecosystem, Pakistan’s presence at GDC 2025 was a resounding success. This event provided a major opportunity for Pakistani gaming companies to showcase their innovation, forge global partnerships, and attract investment. As one of the world’s fastest-growing gaming markets, Pakistan is well on its way to becoming a key player in the global gaming industry. The momentum gained at GDC 2025 reinforces the country’s commitment to advancing game development, expanding its digital economy, and creating new opportunities for its talented developers and studios.
