The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, is pleased to announce that Pakistan’s IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) exports have reached a record high of $3.8 billion in the fiscal year 2024–25. This milestone marks the highest-ever annual export figure for the country’s technology sector and reflects the growing global confidence in Pakistan’s digital economy.
This achievement is a result of strategic policy direction, global investor engagement, talent development, and Pakistan’s increasingly visible presence in the international tech ecosystem. It underscores the government’s long-term commitment to strengthening the digital sector as a pillar of national growth.
Over the past year, Pakistan has made significant progress in expanding its digital footprint globally. In 2024, the country was recognized as the “Tech Destination of the Year” at GITEX Global. Pakistan also hosted the first-ever Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI) Forum in Islamabad, securing over $700 million in investment commitments from global technology investors.
Pakistan’s participation in 20 major international tech events led to 294 firms generating over 4,000 business leads, with a projected value of more than $50 million. The country’s presence at London Tech Week 2025 marked one of its most prominent international showcases to date and was featured across over 1,000 international media platforms.
In parallel, significant efforts were made to strengthen domestic capabilities. Over 8,600 professionals were trained and certified in emerging technologies. Export contributions from Pakistan’s digital freelance workforce also rose to $708 million, marking a 97% year-on-year increase and reflecting the growing global demand for independent talent.
Looking ahead, the upcoming launch of Pakistan’s largest IT Park in Islamabad, scheduled for the first quarter of the new fiscal year, will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure to support domestic and international firms in scaling their operations and exporting services globally.
Commenting on the export milestone, Abu Bakar, CEO of PSEB, added:
“This year’s performance is the result of consistent groundwork, expanding our international footprint, enabling talent, and building investor confidence. The $3.8 billion figure reflects not only commercial success, but also the recognition of Pakistan as a credible, capable, and competitive force in global technology. Our focus now is on building the systems, partnerships, and talent pipelines that will drive us toward the long-term goal of $15 billion in IT exports by 2030.”
As Pakistan continues to build its position as a trusted global partner in digital services, the government reaffirms its commitment to enabling innovation, deepening international partnerships, and unlocking the full potential of its technology sector.
