The Prime Minister’s Initiative: Capacity Building of IT Industry in Specialized Technologies & Platforms aims to position Pakistan as a leading global IT hub and achieve the ambitious target of $15 billion in IT exports within the next five years.

By collaborating with top training firms and universities, the program addresses critical skill gaps in the IT sector. 

It offers specialized, practical training to IT students, graduates, and professionals, fostering innovation, creating jobs, and supporting Pakistan’s growing IT industry.

About the Program

This initiative focuses on developing a skilled and industry-ready IT workforce by providing structured training and certifications tailored to meet the evolving needs of Pakistan’s IT sector. 

 

By targeting 8,679 individuals, the program includes four core components:

Certifications on Reimbursement Model

Soft Skills Training

IT Bootcamps

Internships & Apprenticeships

Through these comprehensive training streams, the program aims to enhance employability, strengthen the workforce, and support the growth of the IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) sector.

Program Targets

1. Certifications on Reimbursement Model

  • Focus: Certifications in high-demand IT skills.
  • Target: 1,350 certifications for IT students, graduates, and professionals.
  • Feature: Full reimbursement upon successful completion.

3. Boot Camps / Techlift

  • Focus: Comprehensive upskilling programs for undergraduates and entry-level IT professionals.
  • Target: 3,380 participants.
  • Delivery: Conducted by a consortium of IT export companies for unemployed or underemployed graduates.

2. Soft Skills Training

  • Focus: Training in communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence.
  • Target: 2,700 certifications for IT students, graduates, and professionals.
  • Impact: Improved employability and professional growth.

4. Internships and Apprenticeships

  • Focus: Six-month internships for IT graduates.
  • Target: 1,000
    placements.
  • Feature: Hands-on experience in PSEB-registered IT/ITeS companies with a monthly stipend of Rs. 30,000.
