IT Parks, Software Technology Parks and e-Rozgaar Centers embody the vision of a digitally empowered Pakistan, fostering innovation, creating employment opportunities, and equipping the youth with the skills and resources needed to excel in the global tech ecosystem.
Located in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi, these hubs support innovation while the E-Rozgaar Program creates opportunities to train and empower the next generation of tech talent. With operating costs just a fraction of those in the USA and Europe, these initiatives drive global competitiveness.
Software Technology Parks are designed to provide an enabling environment for IT businesses, offering facilities such as incubation centers, training spaces, and high-speed internet. 43 Software Technology Parks (STPs) have been established nationwide, covering over 1.9 million square feet of office space and employing over 18,000 professionals. Currently, 357 IT/ITeS companies are working in these STPs and 20% of IT professionals working in these STPs are female. These parks contribute over $100 million annually to IT exports and $15 million to domestic revenue. These STPs are playing a vital role in supporting Pakistan’s growing IT sector, particularly startups and SMEs.
IT Parks in Pakistan represent a transformative initiative aimed at reshaping the nation’s technology landscape and fostering innovation.
These state-of-the-art hubs are designed to create thousands of jobs and promote economic growth by providing cutting-edge infrastructure and facilities for IT businesses and professionals.
With modern office spaces, incubation centers, and R&D IT labs, the parks serve as vibrant ecosystems for startups, entrepreneurs, and established companies to thrive. These IT Parks are a cornerstone of Pakistan’s vision to become a global leader in technology and innovation.
The e-Rozgaar initiative is a flagship program under the Prime Minister’s digital strategy, aimed at reducing youth unemployment by promoting freelancing. This program focuses on establishing training centers across Pakistan, where young professionals can acquire essential skills to thrive in the global digital economy. As of now, 5 training centers have been established, and by the end of the initiative, thousands of Pakistanis will be equipped with the skills needed to work as freelancers. 250 e-rozgaar centers shall be established across Pakistan by February 2027. This shall create co-working space for more than 25000 freelancers and contribute $25 million annually.
